Graduate Diploma in Applied Positive Psychology

Positive Psychology is a science of positive aspects of human life, happiness, well-being and flourishing. The aim of positive psychology is to form a catalyst in psychology from a preoccupation only with repairing the worst things in life to also building the best qualities in life. As a graduate in positive psychology, you can implement its applications in various areas of human functioning such as increasing personal level of happiness, fostering positive relationships, identifying signature strengths and using them for career and life progression. As a positive psychology practitioner, you can coach others on the disciplines of positive psychology as well as promoting specialized training (career, life, mental wellness, parenting, executive & leadership coaching).

  • Character Strengths & Development Introduction to Counselling

  • Psychotherapy and Coaching

  • Introduction to Positive Psychology

  • Positive Psychology Project (Workshop)

The programme is designed for:

  • Participants with the aspirations of becoming Positive Psychology coaches

The programme provides participants with:

  • The core concept of psychology theories with in-depth grounding of the main foundational components in psychology

  • Examples of case studies to integrate theories with applications

Teaching Methods and Assessment

The program will be delivered through classroom lectures, tutorials and group learning, audio-visual presentations, self-studies and case-study discussions.

Admission Requirements

  • Degree in any discipline

  • Mature applicants who do not meet the admission requirements can apply as the program recognizes relevant life experiences

  • Application will be considered on a case-by-case basis; in some cases, interviews may be required
