The Art & Science of Happiness

The National Council of Psychotherapists (Membership Partner)

The National Council of Psychotherapist is one of the oldest established societies of its type in the United Kingdom. It was established in 1971 following the "Foster Report" on the statutory regulation of Psychotherapists, something that has again come to the fore.

The NCP and ICP are a National and International association of therapists, mainly in private practice, to which the public may confidently refer. Most schools of psychological thought are represented and a wide variety of therapeutic approaches are offered.

The National Council of Psychotherapists was selected by the British Medical Association as the professional organisation to appear in Complementary Medicine, New Approaches to Good Practice (Published by Oxford University Press ISBN 0-19286166-2 in 1993). The National Council of Psychotherapists is the ONLY association ever to be given this accolade.

The National Council of Psychotherapists maintains a full code of ethics and practice to which all members must agree to abide by. All memberships are renewable on an annual basis to protect their Members and the general public.

The NCP website provides a large volume of data, including contact details for many practicing Members worldwide.

The ICP is the international section of the NCP and Members have all of the same rights and privileges that NCP UK Members enjoy.
