If you’re on a journey towards a gratifying career in mental health, the Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy (top-up pathway to UEL MA Counselling and Psychotherapy final year) by the University of East London (UEL) will further equip you with skills to better understand the intricate workings of mind and behaviour.
The Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy (top-up pathway to UEL MA Counselling and Psychotherapy final year) course is for TSPP students who have completed the Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy programme.
The Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy (top-up pathway to UEL MA Counselling and Psychotherapy final year) programme follow current research into what actually works in counselling and psychotherapy. An integrative approach is used, and a variety of techniques are employed to respond to the needs and preferences of individual clients.
Completing the course often leads to career progression as a psychotherapist, counsellor, and mental health professional.
Many past students have returned to previous jobs while establishing and developing their own counselling and psychotherapy practice as a second strand to their careers.
In several cases, this has proved successful enough to become their main source of employment.
TSPP students enrolling into the programme will only need to do the one year of modules on Research Methods 1 & 2, while they work on their final research project during the year. The first module broadly speaking familiarises the students with research methodology, ethics and helps them formulate their research questions. The second module is where they undertake data collection, analysis and write up of their findings in the form of a finished article ready to send to a publication of their choice. (Publication is not a requirement for the award of the degree.)
