iSTEP Positive Parenting Masterclass
Parenting is never easy. If you are a parent, have you wondered if you are bringing up a happy, confident and well-adjusted human being? Are you enforcing boundaries yet nurturing freedom of expression with your children? Or are you just doing your best to get through the long work day while trying to be a good parent?
You are not alone. With mental health issues on the rise among children, the role of a parent is more important than ever. But how do you navigate between building discipline, yet ensuring your children of unconditional love and nurturing their self-esteem as they grow up in a world that is increasingly complicated?
Positive parenting strategies may be the answer. Unlike the more authoritarian, fear-based parenting approach of the past or the other extreme of permissive parenting, positive parenting is a strengths-based approach about cultivating discipline in a respectful manner, while strengthening children’s confidence. Based on empathy, it focuses on parents learning to connect with their children as children are nurtured to fix mistakes, and not just pay for them.
