Manjit Kaur: Championing Change Through Positive Psychology

Manjit’s introduction to positive psychology came from an unexpected source—her daughter. “She was the catalyst,” Manjit recalls, acknowledging how her journey began with the Postgraduate Diploma in Positive Organisational Psychology and Leadership at The School of Positive Psychology (TSPP)

What started as an attendance at a public session by Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener quickly turned into a lifelong passion.

“The content’s smitten me,” she shares, describing her first experience with positive psychology as both captivating and inspiring. 

From that moment on, Manjit’s path was set in stone. She embarked on a learning journey that led her to earn a Postgraduate Diploma at The School of Positive Psychology in Singapore, followed by a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK.

Juggling her busy work schedule with her studies demanded a great deal of dedication and flexibility. “My work schedule had me always on the move, making it difficult to stick with one cohort,” she explains. 

Despite this, the challenge brought unexpected benefits. “Moving between different cohorts broadened my network and introduced me to a diverse community. It was a truly enriching experience.” 

Manjit also expressed her gratitude to the faculty and staff at TSPP for their support, which enabled her to successfully navigate through the programme.

Applying Positive Psychology in Life and Work

“It’s about building deeper connections and navigating interpersonal relationships,” she explains. 

The principles of Positive Organisational Psychology and Leadership have deeply influenced Manjit’s approach to both her personal and professional lives. 

In the workplace, these principles have become the foundation of her leadership and teamwork strategies. “I’m more self-aware and, I believe, a more effective leader. The focus on Positive Psychology Coaching is central to bringing excellence to the workplace.”
